Erin Koonz (Rondout Valley) scored a goal as the Huskies field hockey team won the Big East Championship 4-3 over Syracuse. It was Koonz’s third goal of the season.
Makenzie Burud (Red Hook) had 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Purple Knights women’s basketball team in an 89-48 win over Molloy. Burud scored 12 points in a 73-67 loss to Bridgeport.
Kristian Tialios (Onteora) was part of the Red Dragons winning 200-yard medley relay team in a men’s swimming victory over Fredonia. Tialios and his teammates had a time of 1:38.96.
Dani Ackerman had the lone goal for the Hawks field hockey team in a season-ending 3-1 loss to Bowdoin in the opening round of the NCAA Division III tournament.
Michelle Jacobson had 20 kills and 22 digs as the Hawks women’s volleyball team lost 3-2 to Clarkson in the NCAA Division III regional final. Dana Vosilla had 10 kills and six blocks, Marissa King had 50 assists and Becca Borquist (Rhinebeck) supplied 12 dig and three aces.
Victoria Scalise was named State University of New York Athletic Conference Women’s Swimmer of the Week after winning two individual events (100, 200 freestyle) and anchoring two winning relays in the Hawks victory over Oswego.
Marton Keri was named State University of New York Athletic Conference Men’s Swimmer of the Week after winning three individual events (100 and 200 breaststroke, 200 individual medley) and a relay for the Hawks triumph against Oswego.
